Before the legal language: what actually matters to you

The 30-day Performance Guarantee is real and binding — one email and one screenshot from your logs is the entire process. No forms. No investigation. Jump to Section 11 to read it in full →

The Starter plan is free forever — no credit card, no expiry, no required upgrade.

If anything here doesn't match what you expected from the landing page, email support@chargeguard.io — we wrote these terms ourselves and we'll explain anything directly.

These terms are written to be readable, not weaponized. If anything here confuses you or doesn't match what you expected, email us — we wrote this ourselves and we'll explain anything directly.

What this means for you — in plain English

The Starter plan is free forever. No credit card, no expiry date, no required upgrade — ever. If you stay on Starter, you'll never be charged. [If you hit the 500-attack monthly limit, protection resumes automatically at the start of the next calendar month / you'll see a one-click upgrade prompt — no automatic charges.]

The 30-day money-back guarantee is real and binding. If card testing gets through on a paid plan, email us with one screenshot from your logs. That's the entire process — no forms, no investigation, no back-and-forth. We refund every cent within 5 business days. See the full terms in Section 11 →

You can cancel or downgrade anytime, with no penalty. [Cancellation takes effect immediately / at the end of your current billing period] — no cancellation fees, no questions asked. Downgrading to the free Starter plan is always available.

01 Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using ChargeGuard ("Service", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users, including WooCommerce store owners, developers, and agencies using ChargeGuard on behalf of clients.

02 What ChargeGuard Does

ChargeGuard provides a real-time fraud detection API designed to prevent card testing attacks on WooCommerce stores. The Service analyzes checkout signals — including IP reputation, device velocity, email patterns, and BIN data — to block fraudulent requests before they reach your payment gateway.

ChargeGuard operates as a plugin installed on your WordPress/WooCommerce installation, communicating with our cloud API using your unique API key.

03 API Key & Account Security

Upon registration, you receive a unique API key that grants access to the Service. You are solely responsible for:

⚠️ Never share your API key publicly or commit it to version control. ChargeGuard will never ask for your API key via email or chat.

04 How ChargeGuard Is Designed to Be Used

ChargeGuard is built to do one thing: protect WooCommerce stores from card testing attacks. The way it works — analyzing checkout behavior signals, not storing or processing payment card data — means it's designed for a specific purpose, and using it outside that purpose conflicts with how the Service is built and maintained.

Specifically, the following uses fall outside what ChargeGuard is designed to support:

05 Pricing & Billing

ChargeGuard offers three plans: Shield Starter, which is free forever and includes up to 500 blocked attacks per month with no credit card required; Shield Pro, at $19/month or $159/year, which includes up to 5,000 blocked attacks per month; and Shield Agency, at $49/month or $399/year, which includes unlimited blocked attacks across up to 5 stores.

The Starter plan has no time limit and no required upgrade. You may use it indefinitely at no cost.

If you choose to upgrade to a paid plan, we will provide at least 30 days' notice before any billing begins. You may cancel at any time before billing commences with no obligation, and you may downgrade to the Starter plan or cancel a paid plan at any time thereafter with no cancellation fees.

06 Service Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service is provided on a commercially reasonable efforts basis. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.

ChargeGuard is not responsible for losses arising from service interruptions, gateway downtime, or events outside our reasonable control.

07 Disclaimer of Warranties

We back ChargeGuard with a specific, binding commitment: the Performance Guarantee described in Section 11. If card testing attacks get through on your store despite the plugin being correctly installed and configured, you're entitled to a full refund of your subscription fee under the terms set out there.

We make that commitment because we're confident in the technology — not because we believe any security tool can promise perfection. Fraud detection is probabilistic by nature, and no product, including ours, can guarantee it will catch every attack with zero exceptions. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," and beyond the specific guarantee in Section 11, we do not warrant that:

In short: we won't claim the technology is flawless, because no honest security company would. But we will put our money behind it. That's what Section 11 is for.

08 Limitation of Liability

The Performance Guarantee in Section 11 is not affected by this section. If ChargeGuard fails to block card testing attacks under the terms of that guarantee, you're entitled to a full refund of your subscription fee — not a capped or partial amount. Everything below governs claims outside that guarantee.

For all other matters, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChargeGuard and its team members shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

This general limitation exists to keep ChargeGuard affordable for solo store owners — without it, we'd need to price for worst-case, open-ended exposure rather than the actual risk we're built to manage. Outside of the Performance Guarantee, our total aggregate liability for any other claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 3 months preceding that claim.

09 Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by deactivating the plugin and ceasing API calls. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that harms other users or the integrity of the Service.

Upon termination, your API key will be deactivated and your data will be handled per our Privacy Policy.

10 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11 Performance Guarantee

ChargeGuard Pro and Agency subscribers are covered by this guarantee for as long as their paid subscription is active.

If fraudulent card-testing activity gets through that ChargeGuard didn't block, you can request a full refund of your most recent subscription payment.

What counts as a failure: Any fraudulent card-testing activity our dashboard didn't catch — whether it reached your payment gateway, generated fees, or simply shows up in your store's order or gateway logs as activity ChargeGuard didn't block. You don't need to prove a specific attack pattern, reconstruct the full timeline, or meet any technical threshold. If something got through and your logs show it, that's enough.

How to claim: Email support@chargeguard.io within 30 days of noticing the failure, from the email address on your account. One screenshot or a quick export from your WooCommerce order log or gateway dashboard is all we need to process it — no investigation, no back-and-forth. The ChargeGuard plugin must have been installed and active on your store at the time. No forms, no investigation process on your end — we'll review it and respond within 5 business days.

This guarantee covers Pro and Agency plans. The free Starter plan isn't a paid subscription, so it isn't part of this guarantee — but it's also free, so there's nothing to refund.

This guarantee does not limit your rights under applicable consumer protection law. It is offered in addition to, not in place of, any statutory rights you may have.
