Terms of Service

Effective Date: May 9, 2026 · Last updated: May 9, 2026

01 Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using ChargeGuard ("Service", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users, including WooCommerce store owners, developers, and agencies using ChargeGuard on behalf of clients.

02 What ChargeGuard Does

ChargeGuard provides a real-time fraud detection API designed to prevent card testing attacks on WooCommerce stores. The Service analyzes checkout signals — including IP reputation, device velocity, email patterns, and BIN data — to block fraudulent requests before they reach your payment gateway.

ChargeGuard operates as a plugin installed on your WordPress/WooCommerce installation, communicating with our cloud API using your unique API key.

03 API Key & Account Security

Upon registration, you receive a unique API key that grants access to the Service. You are solely responsible for:

⚠️ Never share your API key publicly or commit it to version control. ChargeGuard will never ask for your API key via email or chat.

04 Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose — protecting WooCommerce stores from card testing fraud. You must not:

05 Early Access & Pricing

During the Early Access period, the first 10 accepted stores receive 3 months of full protection at no cost. After the Early Access period, continued use is subject to the pricing in effect at that time ($29/month per store).

We will provide at least 30 days' notice before any billing begins. You may cancel at any time before billing commences with no obligation.

06 Service Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service is provided on a commercially reasonable efforts basis. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.

ChargeGuard is not responsible for losses arising from service interruptions, gateway downtime, or events outside our reasonable control.

07 Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. ChargeGuard does not warrant that:

Fraud detection is probabilistic by nature. ChargeGuard significantly reduces fraud risk but cannot guarantee complete elimination.

08 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChargeGuard and its team members shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 3 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

09 Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by deactivating the plugin and ceasing API calls. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that harms other users or the integrity of the Service.

Upon termination, your API key will be deactivated and your data will be handled per our Privacy Policy.

10 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
